Year 2000 Compliance (Y2K)
May 1, 1998 To Whom It May Concern: Subject: Year 2000 Compliance FlowSoft Inc. has completed our assessment of software, facilities, equipment, and automation regarding Year 2000 Compliance (Y2K). All FlowSoft Inc. developed Windows based software is Y2K compliant and will operate properly in the year 2000 and beyond. All Windows based software use a DD/MM/YYYY format to store the date. This allows the software to be fully Y2K compliant. For example, July 4, 2000 will be stored as 07/04/2000. Some of our Windows based programs use Microsoft Access compatible databases. There has been concern raised about Microsoft Access being fully Y2K compatible. FlowSoft's programs do not use any Access date related functions and any Access Y2K problems will NOT affect FlowSoft programs. Unless specifically stated, all DOS based FlowSoft products are not Y2K compliant but should not cause any operational problems. FlowSoft's DOS programs do not utilize any date related routines and therefore will operate properly after the year 2000. The only problem is that the program(s) utilize a DD/MM/YY format. For example, July 4, 2000 will be displayed as 07/04/00. These are older technology products and will be evaluated on a case by case basis for upgrade to Y2K Compliance. In most cases, these products will be replaced with Windows versions. FlowSoft Inc. would like to ensure its customers and vendors that the Year 2000 Compliance issue will in no way affect our ability to meet your needs and expectations. |
